Little Luke Reading

Jen and Clive and Luke are leaving in the morning, but it was pure joy to bathe Luke, read him stories and hang out for a few minutes tonight. He was super tired, but look at the one where he catches his mom face around the corner. He loves the mama. What a sweet boy he is. He has truly been the sunshine in our lives through this last few months as we have endured more pain for Dale than I ever thought possible. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow that we hope will bring some results. We need some results and Dale needs some pain relief.

Thanks Luke, for coming to Oakley.

A quiet Thanksgiving Day in Oakley.

It was great to have Jen/Clive/Luke (and Logan) with us for a few days.

Look at this face!

We're thankful for Luke!

Typical Luke

This is a typical shot of Luke. He's usually got something in his mouth, something in both hands, and moving as fast as his little legs will carry him. What fun!

TOP 10 LIST

  1. Jen and Luke arriving from Thayne, WYO
  2. Watching Luke toddle around and babble at objects in the house.
  3. Catching up with Jen in person.
  4. Bathing Luke
  5. Reading Stories with Luke
  6. Getting a kiss and hug from Luke and putting him to bed
  7. Talking to JD on the phone
  8. Hot tubbing with Jen
  9. Having Dale asleep in his bed
  10. Off to bed myself.

Lap Blanket

It has been a wee bit chilly today...so I just went and grabbed a "lap blanket." Made me laugh thinking about dad. I'm studying right now. That's it. Test on Monday.

Little Piggys

Today while reading a book to Luke that had a pink, plump pig on the page I asked him if he could point to the piggy. He took his fat fist and grabbed his bare toes. I loved it! We do "this little piggy" every night in the tub so he thinks his toes are piggys. I guess I'll eventually have to teach him that they are TOES but for now, I'll just enjoy how much fun we're having together.

Luke drives home with mommy

But not before he has a chance to play with grandma this morning

Kalloween

Kallie and I just celebrated our first Halloween in true goth style. We even ate Indian food in honor of little Luke. Okay, so it was dot Indian food and not head-dress Indian food, but I think it counts. I have license to say that somewhat prejudicial remark because I heard it from my Indian (dot) friend Prajkta. Anyway, onto the events of the night. WE CARVED PUMPKINS!!!!!!!! BOO! And it was scary...take this one for example.

So, that's me and Darryl on the left and Kallie and Ronald on the right. Jen is going to be so proud of us. Wait that's not all. Here is another one...

Kallie even painted her finger nails black. Scary. She scares me so much. Ya, right. The only thing that scares me is how hot she looks all of the time. It's couples like us that cause people to do a double take, turn there friend and say what is a hot babe like her doing with a guy like that. I usually moon them at that point just to rub it in, if I catch them giving me that vibe.

I must say however that I had one Happy Kalloween! Zing!

Halloween fun 2007

As you can see Dale and Susan were "persuaded" to fall in line with the Halloween tradition. Jen loves this holiday as you know and despite the pain and wretched condition Dale finds himself in, he rallied. He loves his kids and would do nearly anything for them. I believe he is one amazing man for all he has endured this past six months. Here he is making the best of an incredibly hard situation. Happy Halloween from the cowboys and indians up in Oakley.
